About Me
Robert B. Taylor knows how to captivate through his many years of experience as a best-selling writer.
Robert B. Taylor served the government for 50 years. After three years with the 720th Military Police Battalion, he joined the LAPD and served from 1964 to 1993 in various capacities, including command of the Juvenile Division. He served five LAPD terms. He got various department medals, including the Medal of Valor (1967). He managed all campus police operations at USC after retiring as a Commander from LAPD. He was honored by the International Association of Chiefs of Police Community Policing Award-winning Kid Watch program. He left USC in 2002 to become LA County Ombudsman and Chief Probation Officer in 2006.
He retired from county service in 2010. His association with the LAPD Museum began in 1991. The Los Angeles County Peace Officers Association and California Chief Probation Officers Association were among his other professional boards. He earned a Bachelor of Police Administration from California State University, Los Angeles, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Management from California State University, Pomona. As a college associate professor, he taught law enforcement topics abroad.
